Temporal pattern of Klebsiella pneumoniae genomes - 1900-2019

Klebsiella pneumoniae is the most widely studied of the Klebsiella species, in part due to its role in causing disease and the historical typing of these bacteria. Please note that graph shows sequential years from 1997 onwards, prior to that retrospectively collected genomes have only been sequenced sporadically and are shown from 1900 to 1994. 

The column chart below shows the temporal pattern of the Klebsiella pneumoniae genomes sequenced and uploaded to public libraries originating from between 1900-2019. These data reflect the improvements in sequencing technology and increasing uptake of genomic approaches in scientific research.
