World Meningitis Day 2024: the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques in Côte d’Ivoire (CSRS) wants to engage in dialogue with decision-makers and civil society
In May 2024, the Confederation of Meningitis Organization (CoMO) launched the pilot project of the Advocacy Fund for World Meningitis Day 2024. Le Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d'Ivoire (CSRS) is one of the beneficiaries of this competitive fund. The CSRS will carry out, with the support of CoMO and local partners, a project called “Dialogues to overcome meningitis: from the community to political decision-makers”. This project aims to raise awareness about meningitis by establishing a dialogue between civil society and decision-makers.
“We would like to take advantage of World Meningitis Day 2024 to highlight the positive results obtained in the fight against meningitis and draw the attention of decision-makers to the need to maintain surveillance and care for people living with disability caused by meningitis. We are grateful to CoMO for their support and for selecting our application. », Dr Kanny Diallo, associate researcher at the CSRS and head of the meningitis research group.
From September 30 to October 5, 2024, an awareness and discussion campaign will be implemented. The week will be furnished by:
• Dissemination on social networks of awareness messages and a cartoon on meningitis
• The screening of a cartoon in the room and in the presence of schoolchildren, parents, civil society, health organizations and the media
• A discussion panel on meningitis.
The community and political decision-makers are called upon to mobilize for the success of this awareness campaign against meningitis.
Let's stop meningitis!
